First Timers: Travel Wednesday

We encourage you to travel on Wednesday so you can join us for the stuffing party Wednesday evening and PRINCESS DAY on Thursday. These are excellent opportunities to meet other attendees, get glamorous, and get "into-the-swing-of-things". So keep this in-mind when you make your travel and registration plans.

Planning is the key to the success of Princess Day so it has been ADDED TO REGISTRATION but there is NO CHARGE for the event itself. The events of the day are ala-carte so you should budget $ 35-50 for nails, $15-20 for lunch, and your own budget for makeup and shopping.

The objective of Princess Day is to allow our girls to do the girly things they always wanted to do in prep for the week ahead. While the intention and attention in for the first-time outers (FTO), the experienced are welcome as well.

The FTO’s can meet a new friend and gain the initial confidence to "get-into-the-water". You may be hesitant at-first so there is a "tip-your-toe-in-the-water" option at a slower pace - but during breakfast, most find that the water is just-right and start swimming much quicker than any of us would have thought.

The First-Time-SCC’ers (New Friends) who have previously achieved some confidence will get to meet new friends and be welcomed into the SCC-flow-of-things.

Our Alumni (Old Friends) will act as the "tour-guides" to help the FTO’s and New Friends alike to feel welcome and part of the SCC community. They will become the Big-Sisters of the group and offer some experience to our new guests while getting glamorous in the process. It is just like the first day at summer camp – the first people you meet become your best friends for the week and sometimes for the rest of your life.

Imagine that if you created an "en-femme bucket list" some of those items would be nails, eat lunch in-public (at a REAL restaurant), makeup help, walking through the mall with the confidence to shop and accessorize. The 2010 version included these objectives and helped the participants to gain confidence in numbers to do things they had only dreamed of doing. The alternate purpose is to help the SCC First-Timers to meet others, become comfortable, and make new friends.

Wednesday's Schedule

The day starts with a light breakfast in suite 1221 from 9 to 10 so you can come at your leisure. As an FTO – you only need to get from your room to the elevator, go to the 12th floor, and join the crowd. If you need help, we can send someone for you to help calm your nerves and get your journey started. The breakfast serves to get acquainted and meet some new friends.

We need to generally follow an appointment schedule for the makeup and nails functions so the services are not over-booked. Some groups will start leaving the hotel around 9:45 and others can take advantage of some "in-house" options before their appointment times. These options will be designed for the FTO to help with the basic prep before venturing out for lunch and the afternoon appointments (you choose your comfort and courage level).

We will meet as a group for lunch around 1 PM at the Olive Garden for a "lovely little ladylike lunch" so we can chat about our morning adventures, show-off our new face and nails, and meet and mingle with new friends.

Lunch ends around 2:30 and the appointments continue or we venture out for free-form shopping at the Perimeter Mall and other local retailers. We will have a list of the retailers that welcome us so you should feel comfortable asking for help if needed.

The planned events should end around 4:30 so you have time to prepare for the evening events of your choice.

In general there would be appointment times in the following blocks for:

Sephora Groups of 9-12 10:00 - 11:00 – 12:00 - 2:30 - 3:30

Classic Nails Groups of 9-12 10:00 - 11:00 – 12:00 - 2:30 - 3:30

(9:00 and 4:00 may be added if needed)

Lunch at Olive Garden (1-2:30) as the combining point.

Various shopping opportunities will be available around those times while waiting for your appointments.
