Get a sneak preview of the week’s activities when you join planning committee members and staff for an informal reception in the Plaza’s newly renovated bar area . Meet all of the folks that make SCC possible. Shoot some stick and socialize in this quiet time before the SCC starts with non-stop events! Cocktail hour runs from 5 to 11 p.m. Come on down and enjoy the food and beverages in the central meeting place for this year’s conference.
Tuesday, September 20th
Morning – Afternoon: SCC volunteers will be working at setting up various areas of the hotel for the start of the conference. Feel free to chip in and help out !!
Early Evening: Join your friends and the SCC staff for our annual "Stuffing Party". Meet at 6:30 PM in suite 1221 (a sign will be in the lobby) to help assemble the Conference Packs for our guests and be rewarded with snacks and drinks afterwards.

Also new this year, will be an exhibit of the stellar photography from Lou Freeman (the only female photographer for Playboy Magazine). And of course there will food that will match the wines prepared my the ATL renown chef Franky Capobianco of Nawlins Restaurant.

Cheryl Courtney-Evans & TILTT, Inc. invites all SCC members to the Trans Persons of Color Cajun Gumbo Reception, Friday, September 23, 2011, from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
All members of the conference are invited to come and enjoy our Cajun Gumbo and other refreshments with us, as well as fellowship and conversation.
However, as this is the first (and in some cases only) time many transgender persons of color have had the chance to meet, network and know other transgender persons of color from across the country, we ask others to allow us the opportunity to "get our house in order", through conversations about issues that are most unique to our population (i.e., homelessness, joblessness, and collaboration with other groups), for the first hour and a half of this event. Thereafter, ALL are welcome!

Commitment/Re-dedication Ceremony Friday, 5:15pm, Gardenia Room
This event is for couples & friends in the SCC community. Plan to wear white & join a group for a Commitment/Renewal Group Ceremony. Clergyman, Ron Kolb will administer a set of non-dominational vows to this assembled group of couples that are married & or committed. Everyone will simultaneously repeat the declaration to renew their respective unions. Friends & spectators are encouraged to attend as witnesses and to document this auspicious occasion. Couples will assemble at 5:10 pm in desired attire, then they will be asked to stand and join in the ceremony. Sign up to participate at Registration desk. Don't forget your camera & BYOB ~ Bring Your Own Bouquet.
Rev. Ron is an openly gay Clergy member with a Church Body who accepts and ordains openly gay men and women in openly gay relationships. Ron and his partner Mark were ordained together and reside in North Atlanta.

11.15 – 1.00 pm: Luncheon with round tables. These round tables are intended to foster dialog among members of the three organizations. Each round table with be facilitated by an assigned member/moderator of one of the three collaborating organizations.
1.00 – 1.15 pm: Break
1.15 – 2.45 pm: Symposium organized by GLAM on community-based health care and community-participatory research.
2.45 – 3.15 pm: Break
3.15 – 4.45 pm: Symposium organized by Southern Comfort speakers to include :Stephanie Battaglino , Moonhawk Riverstone, Michelle (Miss Kitty Meow) and Chaz Bono.
4.45 – 5.15 pm: Launch of Version 7 of the WPATH Standards of Care
5.15 – 7.15 pm: Wine and cheese reception
